Springtime means warmer weather, a happier feeling and the desire to get out this weekend and tackle that To-Do List!
So.... you need to pressure wash that old dirty deck, or the privacy fence needs cleaned before you can restain it. And the concrete drive is darkened from dirt, grime and mildew. Where do you start? Many home owners run out to a big box store and pick up a 3500+ PSI 2.5 gallon per minute pressure washer. Sounds easy! Well it can be.... but usually not the case. The wrong size tip, not enough water and too much PSI will damage the surface you intended to clean. Leaving behind undesired "zig-zag" patterns or worse. (Maybe the wife won't mind a little added "Art" to the fence?..... Well on second thought!" Ok, quick google search and hire someone who offers pressure washing.... well you may get exactly the same results unfortunately. Whether you tend tend to tackle this on your own or hire it out research is needed. Understanding the proper amount of water and whether or not high pressure and hot water (needed for concrete), low pressure and cold water (needed for wood and exterior house washing) is valuable information. Then you'll know what you need to do to safely perform the task of pressure washing around your home. You will also know whether or not the person or company your looking at hiring actually knows what they are doing. Be careful out there my friends! :) Jeremiah Gibson
