![]() A professional at work Why hire a professional service when your own employees can do it? This question has been asked by many small and large businesses alike. I mean, come on, you're already paying half their taxes, liability insurance, work comp etc. Right? How hard can it be to spray some blue colored water on some windows and wipe it down? Consider the reason why you have people work for you. Are employees only for menial tasks nobody really wants to do? Or to make your business or firm run more effectively so as to increase your bottom line, all the while providing jobs to others in the community? Is every task that can be handed down to an employee going to save you money? Let's be honest with ourselves here, OK? Because we both know the answer. Water pipe breaks at the restaurant you own, who fixes it? An employee? More than likely you call a plumber. Why? It will cost more per hour, right? We know that the professional may seem to cost more but his experience and speed to accomplish what we need is worth it. Not to mention the hourly employee would take far longer and likely cost you more money compared to them doing the job they were hired to do. Hiring a professional window cleaning service is to YOUR benefit. Instead of looking at a bid price on window cleaning like "How much will this cost me?", consider how much does it REALLY cost you to have an employee do the same job. But remember, like the plumber scenario, it will not be the same service. Unlike the hourly employee you have trained for a whole different job (the job that makes you money when it is getting done), the professional window cleaner will be efficient and careful to give you the complete service you are paying for. And while the windows are being cleaned, your employees can be put to better use. So, while hiring a professional window cleaning service or not is completely up to you, just remember to count the entire cost if you have employees doing that task now. You may find it more economical to hire it out.
